Invariants of Random Knots and Links

چکیده
We study random knots and links in R using the Petaluma model, which is based on the petal projections developed in [2]. In this model we obtain a formula for the distribution of the linking number of a random two-component link. We also obtain formulas for the expectations and the higher moments of the Casson invariant and the order-3 knot invariant v3. These are the first precise formulas given for the distributions and higher moments of invariants in any model for random knots or links. We also use numerical computation to compare these to other random knot and link models, such as those based on grid diagrams. MSC: 57M25 60B05

Semiquandles and flat virtual knots
We introduce an algebraic structure we call semiquandles whose axioms are derived from flat Reidemeister moves. Finite semiquandles have associated counting invariants and enhanced invariants defined for flat virtual knots and links. We also introduce singular semiquandles and virtual singular semiquandles which define invariants of flat singular virtual knots and links. As an application, we u...
متن کاملRepresentations of Composite Braids and Invariants for Mutant Knots and Links in Chern - Simons Field Theories
We show that any of the new knot invariants obtained from Chern-Simons theory based on an arbitrary non-abelian gauge group do not distinguish isotopically inequivalent mutant knots and links. In an attempt to distinguish these knots and links, we study Murakami (symmetrized version) r-strand composite braids. Salient features of the theory of such composite braids are presented. Representation...
متن کاملVirtual Yang-Baxter cocycle invariants
We extend the Yang-Baxter cocycle invariants for virtual knots by augmenting Yang-Baxter 2-cocycles with cocycles from a cohomology theory associated to a virtual biquandle structure. These invariants coincide with the classical Yang-Baxter cocycle invariants for classical knots but provide extra information about virtual knots and links. In particular, they provide a method for detecting non-c...

متن کاملOn Quantum Algebras and Coalgebras, Oriented Quantum Algebras and Coalgebras, Invariants of 1–1 Tangles, Knots and Links
We outline a theory of quantum algebras and coalgebras and their resulting invariants of unoriented 1–1 tangles, knots and links, we outline a theory of oriented quantum algebras and coalgebras and their resulting invariants of oriented 1–1 tangles, knots and links, and we show how these algebras and coalgebras are related. Quasitriangular Hopf algebras are examples of quantum algebras and orie...
